Conquering the Giant of Provence “Mont-Ventoux” will definitely be this weeks’ milestone. However, you will not be expected to finish on foot as Froome did in Tour De France 2016! After at least 2 hours of intense effort, not only will you enjoy an exceptional vista up to the Alps, but also a deep sense of personal achievement. Mont Ventoux is considered one of the hardest climbs from Tour de France, hence its nickname.
Throughout this week you will explore the beautiful sun-drenched countryside roads, enjoy the cicada songs, ride through hilltop terracotta villages, witness the lavender fields in full blossom and experience the slow pace of Provence and its world-famous cuisine and hospitality.
Shortly after arriving at your charming hotel in Gordes (one of France’s most beautiful villages), your road captain will lead you on a short loop to around the area, a perfect way to get accustomed to your bike, get to know your fellow riders, discover the Provençale roads and maybe here a few cicada songs.

Today is “Le Jour J” (D-day): The Giant of Provence awaits your visit. This Hors-Categorie climb (21,6 Km at 7,5%) is part of the Tour de France's mythology since 1912. Once at the top, you will be submerged an amazing feeling of self-achievement and personal victory. During the 2 hours of efforts, one may reflect, while others may simply think of the non-stop 20 km of downhill that follows. Denis Roux's tip: breath well, relax, picture yourself at the top... ensure that your Strava is on!
Daily Mileage: 124 Km / 2,913 m
