Your Journey

Conquer some of the most legendary climbs, where Tour de France history was written. While climbing one of those “cycling monuments”, your mind may switch in between epic images of Marco Pantani battling in the Galibier to win the 1998 Tour de France or more recently in 2014, Nibali’s win at Chamrousse. You may also be “distracted” by the stunning Alpine panorama, the pure and silent atmosphere. Denis Roux or road captains will advise you on how to tackle best the long downhill. At the end of your journey, thanks to our daily BéloVélo Bike Clinics, you will master these skills (and much more!)

Day 1 : Loop around Huez

After a warm welcome at Grenoble TGV station, check in Le Pic Blanc Hotel, we will enjoy a small ride to adjust your bike, get to know each other and to recover from your journey.

Day 2 : Alpe d’Huez Climb

Since it was first included in the 1952 Tour De France, no other stage has had such drama. With its 21 bends, gradient (Cat H.C, 14 Km at 8 % ) and the number of spectators (half a million), Alpe d'Huez is a mix of success, defeat, surprise, joy, defeat, sweat & tears, emotion, and anecdotes, The hairpin bends are named after the winners of stages. Conquering the Alpe d’Huez is entering the Legend!

Day 3 : Alpe d'Huez -Col du Galibier - return via Col de Sarenne

First featured in the 1911 Tour de France, Col du Galibier, attracts, every year, thousands of cycling enthusiast who wish to challenge themselves on one of the longest (34 Km) and highest summits in Tour de France (Cat H.C, 2,645 m) Once you will have conquered this Legend, you will feel a deep sense of self-achievement and will remain an unforgettable memory for years. Reaching Huez via Col de Sarenne is one of Tour de France’ picturesque and forgotten roads (featured in 2017 Tour du Dauphiné)

Day 4 : Alpe D'Huez - Col du Glandon

Another "Hors Catégorie" climb that you will manage to check on your bucket list or on Strava! When climbing Col du Glandon (1,924m, 21 Km at 6,9 %), one may think of the 20 Km long downhill that will follow. Col du Glandon has been featured in 15 Tour de France editions.

Day 5 : Alpe d'Huez - Uriage Les Bains

For our last big day on the saddle, you will need to provide a last effort when riding thru Chamrousse (1,700 m), featured twice as Tour de France, finish line. We will arrive early enough in the Spa Town of Uriage Les Bains, for you to visit this charming town, established during the Roman Empire.

Day 6 : Loop around Uriage Les Bains

An early morning ride around Uriage Les Bains will help to balance out last night Michelin star dinner. After this refreshing leg spin, we will all enjoy an "Au Revoir" breakfast before driving you back to Grenoble TGV station

Traveling to France, to your journey’ start

Flying to France: To minimize the risk of delays, recover from jet lag, we do advise you to land in Paris (CDG) on Saturday (Journey start on Sunday noon). To reach Grenoble you will board a TGV (high-speed train) in Gare de Lyon, for TGV information https://www.raileurope.com/index.html

your Arrival & Departure

We will welcome you at Grenoble TGV station on Sunday at 13:00 pm. While we do not handle train & plane booking we would be glad to advise on the best options. At the end of your journey, on Friday, we will drive you back to Grenoble TGV station, to be able to board your return TGV from 12:00 pm onwards

Dining

We wish to make your journey as memorable and diverse as possible. For a year, we have handpicked a superb collection of quality, local and authentic restaurants. All selected restaurants propose a genuine cuisine using local & seasonal products. Contrary to other Tour operators, ALL your meals are included, with matching wines and mineral water. Your Journey also includes a 2* Michelin dinner with matching wines. All hotels and restaurants cater to specific dietary needs; do not hesitate to inform us in advance.

YOUR BIKE

We have selected some of the best bikes currently on the market: TREK Domane SL7 Di2 or PINARELLO Prince Disk Ultegra Di2. While features are similar to "Tour de France peloton" machines (Full Carbon, Electronic Transmission), you may also wish to upgrade to a superior bike category or wheelset, upgrade your bike. For your convenience, we will supply you with a Helmet, and desired pedal type.

ROAD CAPTAIN & ASSISTANCE VEHICLE

Each day, your road captain will open the road, lead you through charming villages, traffic-less country roads, advise on how to tackle the next climb and all the while, ensure your safety and comfort. As experienced cyclists, we know that it is always reassuring to feel a presence along the way. This is why an assistance vehicle will follow you in case of a puncture or if you need beverages, snacks, an extra layer or even wish to rest for a while.

rides & BéloVélo Bike Clinic

Everyday, several mileage and speed average options will be available to suit all fitness levels. To provide a genuine, safe and personalized experience the group size will be limited to 15 guests in a week. You may also enjoy a daily BéloVélo Bike Clinic during which a Road Captain will teach you tips of the peloton, such as climbing, downhill, bike handling techniques, mechanical advise and much more
