The perfect week-end to discover some mythical Tour de France climbs where cycling history was made.
While climbing one of those ”monuments”, your mind may switch in between epic images of past Tour de France. But do not forget to enjoy the stunning Alpine panorama & try to spot a groundhog !
Throughout your BéloVélo journey, you will only need to suffer on the saddle, we will look after the rest. You will enjoy breathtaking panoramas, amazing French hospitality, flawless service, and memorable camaraderie.
After a warm welcome at Grenoble TGV station & your hotel check in, your cycling adventure begins. As an appetiser you will tackle a Col that has been ridden only once by the Peloton. A true “forgotten col”. Although short (3 km at 7,8 %), le Col de Sarenne will be the perfect opportunity to acclimate to the road conditions and to get to know your fellow riders.
Daily Mileage: 18 Km / 465 m
This day offers not one, but two classified climbs. First, the Col de la Croix de Fer, another "Hors Catégorie" ascent. The challenge is substantial (21 km at 6.9%) . As you conquer this monumental climb, remember the rewarding 20 km descent that awaits. A slight detour and a few hundred meters will allow you to add Col du Glandon to your Strava achievements. The Col de la Croix de Fer has been featured in 21 Tour de France editions, making it a true cycling legend.
Daily Mileage: 73 Km / 1,900 m
Nothing beats a Sunrise ride in the Alpes! After a quick espresso & croissant, time to tackle the mighty Alpe d’Huez. Since it was first featured in Tour de France in 1952, this climb has seen it all. Each hairpin is named after a stage winner. In 2022, Tom Pidcock was the last to add his name. The 21 legendary bends and its nasty gradient (Category H.C, 14 km at 8%), make L’Alpe d'Huez are true cycling monument. Upon your return back to the hotel, you will be rewarded with an "Au Revoir" breakfast before driving you back to Grenoble" TGV station
